Day 1: Fly To Calgary (Click on the picture to enlarge) This whole trip was started when a friend I knew in Boston, invited me up to go skiing in Alberta. I immediately jumped at the chance and booked a flight. I decided to extended the trip to a week so I can "look around". So March came along, and I found myself on a flight to Calgary. Upon, arriving I picked up my rental car and drove to my friends parents house. I was greeted very warmly by her parents, and I gained some much very needed zzzzz's while waiting for my friend to return. In between naps, I was introduced to the very popular sport of Curling (Olympic Demonstration Sport). The curling championship (Labatt Brier) was being televised, and I watched in wonderment at this 'strange' sport. To find out more about curling go to Canadian Curling Association or The Sports Network (like our ESPN) After a nice diner, followed by a friendly chat with our neighbors up north, I was off to bed to 'prepare' for the much anticipated day of skiing. I had heard that they have received lots of new snow. Yippee!!! On to Day 2 -> |
