Day 2: Skiing at Sunshine Village, Hospital

We loaded the car, and off to Sunshine Village we go, roughly an hour away.

We arrive, in the thick of a snow storm, I park the car, and go to put on my coat. Wait a second, where IS my coat. Oops!!, it is still hanging back at the house in Calgary. Oh well, I had plenty of other layers on, (just nothing that was waterproof). But the snow was dry. So, we go to rent skis. Besides the fact, I can be a bumbling idiot, it all went well, and up the mountain we go.

Oh, my what fun we had in all the Pow-Pow. It took a couple of runs to get into the powder groove, but it was not soon after I found myself singing "Yippe!!!!".

At the end of the day, we split off so I can push my skiing limits on Goat's Eye Mountain. On the way over to Goat's Eye, I take a run under Tee-Pee-Town lift ripping up some new tracks, when wack, down I go. Ouch, my knee was telling me. But of course, when you ski under the lift, you have to get up quickly. Mmmmm, that's smarts. I decided that I would live, and continue down the slope. Going up a lift on Goat's Eye, I noticed that blood was oozing though my ski pants, and the bottom of my ski boot was stained red. Mmmmm. It did not hurt that bad, so I did Goatsucker Glade (or so I think) and felt the burn in my end of the day wobbly legs. Did one more one run, Afterburner, which is all my legs felt, and to base I go.

I met up with my friend after returning my skis, and I was a bit unsettled. Got back to the car, to look at the damage, and it was a lot worse than I expected. But since, it really did not hurt that much, I was doing ok. Fortunately, my friends mom, is a doctor, so we went home to get me fixed up. After a shower (just did not smell well), we went to her 'office'. After looking at it she said, that it looked a lot deeper than expected, so to the hospital we go.

Besides not knowing what "Freezing" was (numbing it), the doctor stitched me up with 6 stitches, and the way I go.

It was a little bit of a bummer, since I was planning on skiing the following day, but it turned out ok, because it allowed me to do some other activities.

On to Day 3 ->
